Surah At-Takathur is the 102nd chapter of the Quran, consisting of 8 verses. It warns against the rivalry for worldly possessions, reminding people of the inevitable reality of death and the Day of Judgment. Below are the verses of this Surah.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ ١
Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you (1)
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ ٢
Until you visit the graveyards. (2)
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٣
No! You are going to know. (3)
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٤
Then no! You are going to know. (4)
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ ٥
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... (5)
لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ ٦
You will surely see the Hellfire. (6)
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ ٧
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. (7)
ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ ٨
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. (8)
